Communities covered by the RSA are subject to meeting the minimum point requirement, based on an annual assessment. Communities that do not qualify for RRP under the RSA receive 50% of the previous year’s retention allowance for one year.
A, B, C, and D Communities
RSA communities are designated A, B, C or D based on the number of isolation points they receive as outlined below.
‘A’ communities – 20 or more
‘B’ communities – 15 to 19.9
‘C’ communities – 6 to 14.9
‘D’ communities – .5 to 5.9
Physicians practicing in A, B, or C communities are eligible for all the rural programs subject to meeting individual program requirements. Physicians residing in D communities are eligible for the following rural programs subject
to meeting individual program requirements: RCME, RIF, RCF, RGPLP and REAP.
