Maternity Care for British Columbia (MC4BC)
The purpose of MC4BC is to support GPs who have dropped their obstetrical privileges to refresh and regain obstetrical skills and support additional training for graduating FP residents who want to incorporate obstetrics into their practice.
Eligibility:
A physician will be eligible for this program if he/she:
- Has obtained full registration and licensure from the College of Physicians.
- Has obtained hospital obstetrical privileges for the hospital(s) in which they receive training.
- Intends to practice in BC after they have received their training.
- Completes all required application documentation.
Note: Specialist physicians are not eligible for this program
Benefits:
Each participant will be eligible for up to $45,645 of funding, which may include the following:
- Training Stipend – the maximum available is $30,744.
- Preceptor Stipend – up to $4,000.
- Travel Allowance – up to $9,500 (reimbursement upon submission of receipts).
- CMPA Obstetrical Insurance – up to $400 (reimbursement upon submission of receipts).
- Additional Education Requirements – up to $1,000 (reimbursement upon submission of receipts).
