First Year Enhancement Program
The First Year in Practice Enhancement Program allows physicians in their first year of rural practice to access REAP funds for skill upgrades. Applicants to this program are eligible to receive five days of training for every one month of practice in an approved RSA community within the first year.
Eligibility:
- Available to those undertaking their first year in full-time rural practice in an RSA community in BC
- Letter from Health Authority confirming that the skill is needed in the community.
Benefits:
- Eligible for 5 days of REAP funding for every one month of service within the first year.
- Stipend of $3,400 per week.
- $450/week from stipend to go towards primary preceptors or departments.
- Travel covered up to $2,000 for entire training period.
- Accommodation covered up to $1,000/week.
