The small village community of Winlaw is nestled in the picturesque Slocan River Valley in southwestern British Columbia.  The surrounding mountains, rivers and lakes provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities as Winlaw is close to two of the province's major mountain wilderness parks, Valhalla and Kokanee Glacier.  The primary industry in the Slocan Valley and Winlaw area is forestry, but tourism is continuing to grow with the increasing popularity of soft adventure and multi-sport travel.  As a result, there are a number of small tour operators, community ski hills, destination spas and accommodations in the Winlaw and Slocan Valley area.
