Around Vanderhoof there are many provincial parks. Beaumont Provincial Park has great trails for hiking and mountain biking and vehicle-accessible campsites. There are also many lakes and rivers surrounding Vanderhoof where you can enjoy fishing of many different types of fish.

Visit the Vanderhoof Heritage Museum and see 11 heritage buildings from the 1920s, including the town's first jail, the Old Royal Bank Building and a hotel and cafe, which are still operating today.

Or take a tour of Endako Mine and discover Vanderhoof's mining past. The tour will take you through the open-pit molybdenum mine and give an overview of the mine operations of the past and future.

During the winter, enjoy skiing or snowboarding at Murray Ridge Ski Hill, which is just a 40 minute drive from Vanderhoof. The hill offers 520 metres of downhill skiing on 23 trails as well as 20 km of cross country trails.
