Outdoor recreation opportunities abound in Trail. At Beaver Creek and Champion Lakes you can hike, bike, camp and enjoy water sports. In nearby Rossland mountain bikers will enjoy trails with drops, jumps and stunts. Golfers will enjoy a round at 18-hole Rossland Trail Country Club or 9-hole Champion Lakes Golf & Country Club.

Enjoy skiing and snowboarding at nearby Red Resort or cross country skiing at Black Jack Cross Country Ski Area.

Trail is home to one of the world's largest lead-zinc smelter, Teck Cominco. The smelter was in operation over 100 years ago, before the town of Trail was born. You can take a free tour of the facilities and the Interpretative Centre which includes hands-on exhibits, videos and educational video games.
