Known as the "Gateway to the North", the town of Terrace is located in the Skeena River Valley in the geographic centre of northwestern British Columbia. Primarily a forestry town, it also serves as a business service and supply centre for the region and is a hub for highway, rail and air transportation routes. With its affordable housing, spectacular scenery and numerous recreational opportunities, Terrace's population is growing. Residents enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities including skiing, fishing, and hiking, all within close proximity.
Terrace experiences a moderate climate with minimal temperature extremes. Summer days are long and warm with temperatures averaging around 18 degrees Celsius. Winter temperatures average around 3 degrees with considerable snowfall.
