Description : 

Port McNeill is accessible by highway and commercial bus service. There is a local airport that services private aircraft; however the nearest commercial airport with regularly scheduled flights is in Port Hardy, 36 km (approx 40 mins) to the north. The nearest major centre is Campbell River, 198 km (2 hours) to the south. The city of Victoria, the capital of BC, is 462 km south by road.

Airlines : 

Pacific Coastal Airlines offers flights to nearby Port Hardy.  From there, Port McNeill is about approximately 40 km away.

Bus Services : 

Vancouver Island Coach Lines runs one trip per day between southern Vancouver Island and northern Vancouver Island. The bus arrives in Port McNeill around 3:15pm, and departs southbound at around 9am each day. Tickets can be purchased through Greyhound. Check online at www.greyhound.ca for current fares and detailed schedules.

Ferry Schedules : 

From Vancouver: Horseshoe Bay Departures to Nanaimo. From there, Port McNeill is 347 km (approximately 5 hours) drive away. BC Ferries will also take you from Port McNeill to Sointula and Alert Bay.

Car Rentals : 

You may rent a car in Port Hardy.  Port McNeill is approximately 40 km away (about 35 minutes drive). Rental companies include Budget Car Rentals and National Car Rentals.
