The scenic coastal community of Port Hardy is located on the north part of Vancouver Island on the shores of Hardy Bay. As a supply centre to the mid-coast area, the community boasts a broad range of service and retail outlets. Mining, fishing and forestry are its main industries, with tourism increasing in importance. Spectacular mountain views, large expanses of natural wilderness and miles of undeveloped coastline are readily accessible to the community providing an ideal venue for sport fishing, scuba diving, caving, kayaking and recreational boating.
