The pretty town of Osoyoos is located in the Thompson Okanagan region of southern British Columbia, just 5 minutes from the American border.  Home to Canada's only arid desert, it is surrounded by lush fruit trees and towering mountains.  Osoyoos, with its lakeside location, mild winters and hot summers, is a popular summer vacation destination.  The community offers a wide range of services and amenities including over 100 merchants and services businesses, an ice rink, a curling rink and a library.  Both residents and tourists enjoy local beaches, wineries and golf courses.

Osoyoos is known for its dry, desert-like climate.  Summer temperatures average around 28 degrees Celsius and winter temperatures around -4 degrees.  The average annual rainfall in Osoyoos is 281 mm and the average snowfall is minimal at 47 cm.
