The tiny remote villages of Kincolith (Gingolx) and New Aiyansh (Gitlakdamix) in northwestern British Columbia are part of the traditional territory of the Nisga'a people.  They represent two of four Nisga'a villages in the Nass River Valley, 24,862 square kilometres of dramatic landscape and a rich native culture that dates back 10,000 years.  In the year 2000, the Nisga'a celebrated not only the beginning of a new century, but the beginning of a new future as they won the right to self-government.
