The town of Houston is located in the heart of the Bulkley Valley in northern British Columbia, halfway between Prince George and Prince Rupert. It is both a wilderness and an industrial hub. Forestry and mineral explorations have contributed to the area's economy, as has tourism in recent years. The community of Houston was built by people of diverse backgrounds including both East Indian and Dutch descent. It is know for its steelhead fishing, just one of many exhilarating outdoor recreational opportunities here.
