Surrounded by rolling hills and prairies, the community of Dawson Creek is located in the Peace River Country in the northeast corner of British Columbia. The point of origin of the Historic Alaska Highway, it is a proud community build on the stability of agriculture and a strong sense of community spirit. Although Dawson Creek's main industry is agriculture and it is known province-wide for its' honey, oil and gas, forestry and tourism also contribute to the areas' economy. Residents of Dawson Creek enjoy a wide range of recreational activities year round including skiing, golfing, hiking, canoeing and fishing.

Because of Dawson Creek's northern location, the sunset on summer days can occur as late as 11:00pm, and view of the Northern Lights are common.
