Winter recreational activities in Burns Lake include curling, cross country skiing, skating and snowmobiling. Residents also enjoy camping, canoeing, kayaking, boating, water skiing, bird watching, hiking and hunting. With a myriad of lakes and more than 3,000 miles of fishing in the area, it is a popular place for anglers.
Burns Lake is the gateway to one of British Columbia's largest parks. The 994,246 hectare Tweedsmuir Park boasts some of the most stunning scenery in Northern BC.
Several annual special events take place in Burns Lake during the summer including the Burns Lake Rodeo, Tweedsmuir Days, Canada Day Ceremonies and the Pedal-to-Paddle Tri Race.
