Named for its location, 100 miles north of the origin of the Gold Rush Trail, 100 Mile House is proud of its frontier heritage. Originally a stopover for prospectors heading north for gold, the town of 100 Mile House, is known for its friendliness and hospitality.

Forestry is the primary driver of the economy, however the community also serves as a commercial supply for the centre for the area. Located in the Cariboo Chilcotin region of BC, the area experiences warm summers and cold winters with short-term temperatures ranging from 30 degrees to - 40 degrees Celsius.
